What Did I learn?
This summer was very long and hard season for me, but at the same time it was a useful summer. Before I entered this class, I knew how to write a paragraph and do the grammar and the punctuation. In this class, I have moved to the next level where I learned how to write an essay. Also, this class makes me able to organize my ideas while I am writing. In addition to that, the notes that Ms. Tong made on my writing helps to use correct grammars and verb tenses. They also focused my attention to errors I made usually in my writing. Finally, through this summer I learned how to use Google docs and blog. In conclusion, In spite of the difficulties that I was faced in this summer, the benefits which I earned were worth.

My Bucket List
Everyone has things he wishes to do before he dies. These things are different from one person to another, and they could be traveling to other places or countries or achieving high degrees in study, etc. For me, there are few things in my mind which I hope to do. On the top of the list is my parent's satisfaction. I hope before I die to be able to go with my parent to visit Mecca. The second thing is to find a good woman to spend the rest of my life with her. The last thing I wish to do is to achieve PhD in the mechanical engineering.

Euphemism
There are many euphemisms in every country. Most of them are similar; however, there are a few differences. For example, when someone dies, we say he moved to God’s mercy. Also, we used the same expression that British people use for toile; we call it “water closet”. Instead of saying retarded, we call them people with special needs. We also call a garbage collector as sanitary worker. There are many other euphemisms, but unfortunately I can not remember every one right now.

If I Could Change My Country

As Ms. Tong said, every country has good points and bad points.  When we talk about that, we mean the people who live in that country.  For example, my country, Iraq, is one of the richest countries in the world.  It has natural resources that guaranty high standards of living for each person; however, the Iraqi people are suffered of poverty and the financial and administrative corruption.  In addition, the bad status of the hospitals and the shortage of the health equipment make people go to other countries which are poorer than in Iraq to find the health treatment.  There are also many other things that need to be changed, but if I have the opportunity to change something, I would improve the health aspect.

Appreciating My Family of Origin
In my life, there are two parts I have not been able to keep on without them.  These parts are my father and my mother.  Since I was child, they have supported me in each aspect of my life.  They have taken care of me and taught how to face difficulties in my life. They also taught me to respect every person even if he has a different opinion.
My mother is housewife. She always stays at home to take care of my brothers and me. Sometimes I thought she hated us, but I was wrong. I do not think there is any person has been worried about me like her. When I was in school, she woke up early every day to make to make a breakfast and to be sure we went to school at time. Also, when we went back, we found our lunch ready.  Although she is uneducated, she was strict about out study and doing our homework. Despite of being far of her, she calls me every weekend and asks if I eat well.
Although my father was always at work, he was concerned about our future.  When he was being at home, he was always asking my mother about our behavior and how we were doing in school.  He spent all his life to support the family.
I am always proud when I talk about my parents and what they do for us to achieve our goals.

The Differences Between My Country and The U.S.
As everyone knows, Iraq is one of the developing countries.  If we compare between him and the U.S, we will find many differences.  Since I came to the U.S., I have seen many of them
The first difference is the maps and the addresses.  In the U.S. each building has an address and a place on the map, and this address is saved on the Internet.  Any time I want to go to any place, I just need a smart phone which has GPS.  When you enter the address, the GPS will show you the route and the distance according to the transportation way.  While in Iraq, you never find something like that.  There is no even an address.
The second difference is the electricity.  The biggest problem in my country is the electricity, especially in the summer.  The temperature in summer is between 40C-50 C (104 F- 122F), and the people are suffering in the conditions without electricity. Most people are depend on themselves and made generators to use it against this killing weather.  While in the U.S., the people do not need to think about that. The only thing they need to think about is the bill.
There are many differences, but if I explain each one, maybe I will write a book.

My Dream Job
Everyone has a dream about his job in the future, and this dream is growing with him. These dreams are different form one person to another depending on the person's life and the environment that he lives in. Since I started my undergraduate study, I have thought in one job which is to be a teacher. When I say teacher, I mean to be a teacher in mechanical engineering, which is my major. I like this job because when I was in college, sometime my teacher could not explain to the students a topic, so I was helping my other classmates to understand it. I felt happy when I was helping them to pass tests. I think it is amazing when you try to pass your knowledge to other people and help them to success in their life.
